Meet The Committee

Our little committee is looking forward to getting to know you! Here’s a bit about us, and why we love the ocean life.

  • Ashika

    Chair

We reckon Ashika is the real-life Wonder Woman. There is nothing she cannot do. She is a kick-ass lawyer, a dedicated artsy and sporty mum, an attentive friend, an unwavering environmental activist, a committed surf club Chair and an awesome surfer to boot. We honestly don’t know how she finds time to do all this (and to sleep)! Keen frother, she is always up for a surf session (or 3!) and her laugh is genuine and contagious! As Chair, she is passionate about supporting women and non-binary surfers to love being in and caring for the ocean!

  • Bree

    Vice Chair

  • Laurence

    Events Coordinator

Laurence, the Events Coordinator for the Surfcoast Women's Boardriders, brings a deep passion for surfing that’s rooted in both her love of nature and its impact on her mental well-being. Originally from Canada, she first fell in love with surfing at 19 in the chilly waters of Tofino and has been hooked ever since. Now based in Geelong, she finds solace and clarity in the ocean, where the rhythm of the waves and the vastness of the landscape allow her mind to truly rest. For Laurence, surfing isn’t about performance—it's about connection: to herself, to others, and to the natural world. Her favorite spot is Kennett River, a remote break where nature still dominates, and she surfs at least once a week to stay grounded.

  • Laura

    Sponsors & Partnerships Coordinator

  • Natalia

    Digital & Marketing Coordinator

Natalia brings a deep passion and personal connection to the ocean that’s shaped both her lifestyle and identity. Born in the heart of landlocked Colombia, she’s come a long way to pursue her love for the sea. She thrives on its challenges, embracing everything from frustrating wipeouts to slow progression with resilience and joy, knowing that just one amazing ride can make it all worth it. A regular at 13th Beach for its variety of waves, she surfs at least once a week to stay balanced. Her advice to newcomers is simple and honest: commit to the waves, try different boards, don’t snake others, and most importantly—enjoy the long, unique journey.

  • Virginia

    Treasurer

Virginia is a real lover of the ocean and travel. So much so that it is the inspiration for her clothing label, where each collection is influenced by the places she has been; which usually involve surfing, diving, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, boating - anything in and around the ocean.
